Job: Fabrication Administrator
Contract: Permanent
Based: Ashford, Kent
Hours: 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm
Salary: Dependent on skills and experience
Channel Commercials PLC is a leading commercial vehicle dealer providing sales, parts and servicing for DAF Trucks and light commercial vehicles and vans in the South-East.

Key responsibilities include: -
- Dealing
with incoming enquiries.
- Handling
Fabrication bookings & workshop queries
- Fabrication
parts procurement
- Fabrication
parts ordering
- General
Fabrication administration tasks.
- Customer
order number requests & issues.
- Estimating
- Sales
WIP invoicing
- Workshop
planning, loading & progress.
- Sales
job card production / part ordering & input onto DAFCheck.
- Tacho
bookings / job card production & electronic calendar input.
- Dispatch
/ Warranty & follow up.
- Liaising
daily / weekly with fab technicians.
- Calibrated
equipment requirement / condition & certification.
- Tooling
requirement / condition & issue.
- PPE
requirement / condition & issue.
- Health
& Safety / Safe Systems Of Work (SSOW).
- Staff
training / requirements & certification.
- Requesting
covering order numbers for the scheduled maintenance
- Raise
single point WIP and supporting service history WIPs for the month.
- Any
other reasonable tasks as requested
Essential Qualities include:-
- Good IT skills including Word and Excel
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Previous
experience of working in an admin role
- Experience of dealing with
customers both on the telephone and face to face
- Good communication skills (written,
face to face, telephone & email
- Methodical with good
organisational, planning and follow up skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Interpersonal skills with the ability
to liaise with all levels of staff and directors
- Ability to deal with customers in
difficult situations
- Be able to work unsupervised and
under pressure
- Ability to be self-disciplined and
use own initiative
- Ability to prioritise workloads
- Confident, professional manner
Desirable Qualities include:-
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
- Experience/knowledge of Kerridge (although full training will be given)
- A basic understanding of vehicle terminology
- Experience of working in a busy environment
