Job: Workshop Administrator/Co-ordinator
Contract: Permanent
Based: Strood
Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday plus 1 Saturday morning per month (with the flexibility to work more if required)

Channel Commercials PLC is a leading commercial vehicle dealer providing sales, parts and servicing for DAF Trucks, Maxus light commercial vehicles and vans in the South-East.
We have an exciting opportunity for you to work in our busy Strood depot in the Service Administration department. The successful candidate will liaise with customers to ensure their requirements are met both in an efficient and profitable way, leading to customer satisfaction. You will also be responsible for securing authorisation and payment for the work undertaken,
This role is important as you are the point of contact for our service customers both face to face and over the telephone.
Key responsibilities include: -
- Estimate parts
and labour required to complete repairs
- Obtain
authority to carry out repairs on customer vehicles
- Record the
authority detail on the job WIP screen
- Liaise with
technicians and foreman regarding work that is authorised for repair
- Order parts
required when applicable
- Liaise with
customers over the phone and at the service desk
- Essential Qualities include:-
- A basic understanding of vehicle terminology
- Commercial Vehicle experience
- Experience of dealing with customers both on the telephone and face to face
- Administration skills
- PC Literate in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Email
- Excellent communication skills including face to face and telephone
- Confidence and ability to liaise with all levels of people including customers, other staff, managers and Directors
- Ability to manage conflicting demands
- Ability to manage a lot of information at once and work well under pressure
- Problem solving skills
- Excellent organisational and planning/scheduling skills
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to build a rapport with customers and handle difficult situations
- Literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to challenge
- Confident with a drive to get things done
Desirable Qualities include:-
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
- Experience/knowledge of Kerridge (although full training will be given)
- Experience of working in a busy environment
