We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Vehicle Technician who wants to progress their career.
The successful candidate will cover in the absence of the Service Foreman, overseeing the work but also working alongside the Commercial Vehicle Technicians, ensuring the work is completed to a high standard and within deadlines.
Key responsibilities include to:
- Allocating
work to the Commercial Vehicle Technicians
- Dealing
with queries from customers over the telephone and face to face
- Quality
control and checking
- Service,
repair, road testing and fault diagnose of vehicles
- Signing
off Job cards/work
- Completion
of relevant paperwork
- Ensuring
relevant Work Instructions/Quality Systems and all company policies are
followed.
- Supervise
workshop staff, including monitoring of time keeping and productivity,
authorising overtime, identifying training needs
- Provide
technical support to the workshop and external customers
- Liaison
with managers and customers on progress
- Overseeing
the work to ensure completion on time and to a high standard, reallocating
duties where necessary
Essential Qualities include:-
- Previous experience in mechanics (preferably heavy vehicle
- Ability to liaise with all levels of staff, Directors and customers
- Ability to organise, plan and prioritise
- Leadership skills with the ability to delegate and motivate to achieve results
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Confident manner with business awareness
- PC literate
Desirable Qualities include:-
- DAF trucks mechanical experience
