Contract: 3 months fixed term contract

Based: Ashford

Hours: 11.30am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday, plus every other Saturday morning

Salary: £15,084.00 pa (pro rata)

Channel Commercials PLC is a leading commercial vehicle dealer providing sales, parts and servicing for DAF Trucks and Maxus vans in the South-East.

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Parts Delivery Driver operating out of our Ashford depot. Driving a van, the successful candidate will undertake multi-drop deliveries and collections of parts and accessories, to and from our Customers, Suppliers and Depots.

Main Duties include:

• Selecting parts and loading them onto the van
• Planning the route within set parameters
• Delivering parts and collecting returns
• Putting stock away
• Completing relevant paperwork.
• Driving the Company's vehicle in a safe and legal manner
• Keeping the vehicle clean and maintained
• Checking delivery is accurate to invoice/delivery note
• Promoting good customer relations
• Identifying sales opportunities and progressing sales

Essential Qualities include:-

• Clean driving licence (no points) and low accident record
• Road knowledge of Kent and surrounding areas
• Knowledge of and ability to drive within speed limits
• Experience of dealing with customers
• Ability to plan a delivery route
• Ability to work alone and on own initiative
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build a rapport with customers and maintain good customer relationships
• Ability to handle customers in difficult situations
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Professional manner and appearance
• Ability to learn quickly
• Ability to see a sales opportunity and progress to a sale

Preferable Qualities include:-

• Previous driving role
• Experience of driving a 3.5t van
• Multi-drop delivery experience, preferably vehicle parts delivery
• Sales experience
